Outline:
An information and communication technology (ICT) enabled knowledge brokerage system known as the Agricultural Knowledge Management System (AKMS) was set up in 2006 in the coastal district of Khulna. AKMS brings together organisations, strategies and sources of knowledge required to improve agricultural processes and food security within a framework of climate change.

The initiative supports farmers’ critical decisionmaking processes throughout the year, ranging from assistance with crop calendar planning, climate-resilient crop selection, seed purchase, tillage methods, pest control, harvesting, market access and the securing of fair crop prices.
